Easy Ways To Start The Day Right

How you begin the day will have a big influence on the overall feel of the day, so it’s important that you start the day right. If you get off to the best start possible, then you’ll be more likely to have one of those days where everything goes your way. If it’s an awful start to the day, then you’ll be facing an uphill battle.

While there will be some mornings that present a challenge, the majority are largely within your control. In this blog, we’re going to take a look at a few tried and tested methods for beginning the day well.

The Alarm Clock

The default alarm on your smartphone will wake you up, sure, but it won’t be very enjoyable. In fact, it’ll be awful. No one wants to be rudely awakened from their slumber, yet that’s what most of us experience. There are alternatives, however. One of the best options is an alarm clock that simulates the rising sun. This will gently wake you up as if you were being woken up naturally with the sunrise. The result is that you’ll be much more refreshed when you wake up, rather than feeling groggy.

The Stretch

Your body has been lying there for hours upon hours. It’ll make sense that it’s a little tense and tight. And unless you find ways to wake your body up, then you’ll find it difficult to really get going. Depending on how much time you have, you can choose either a deep stretching session or a bit of exercise. There are 10-minute morning stretch routines available on YouTube. Another option is to wake your body up by doing some light stretching and then going for a run. Once you’re finished, your body will feel alive and ready to take on the day.

The Breakfast

We all know just how powerful a good meal can be. It can be enough to change your mood. So take a look at what you’re having for breakfast. Is it inspiring? Does it make you excited to get out of bed? If the answer is no, then look at making some changes. Breakfast is one of those things that we can improve just by making a few changes. For instance, rather than drinking instant coffee, drink coffee made from fresh beans — you’ll find a great selection at The Coffeeworks. For the food, a dish like scrambled eggs with spinach or smashed avocado and egg on toast will ensure you’re well-fed and have plenty of energy.

The Slowdown

Be sure to take some time for yourself before you head out into the world. This could involve doing a bit of meditation, or reading the morning newspaper, or doing a daily puzzle, like Wordle. You’ll feel much better about facing the day when you’ve already had a dose of joy and happiness before you set off to take care of all your other responsibilities. It’ll also help avoid the damaging “life at 100 mph” feeling that often happens when we rush out the door.
